Corsica

Back to the roots

The SPOTURNO family settled in Corsica on the bay of Ajaccio in the 16th century. On this wild and untamed island, they are the pioneers of the culture of orange trees on their domain of Barbicaja which borders the road of Sanguinaires.

François Spoturno was born on May 3, 1874. He lost his mother at the age of 4 and his father three years later. It is his paternal grandmother who takes care of him. Together, when he was only 12 years old, they left the Island of Beauty hoping for a better future on the continent. François will never stop working for the well-being of his native island...

La Cité des Parfums was the name of François Coty's factory in Suresnes. Véronique Coty chose it to launch the Fine Fragrance & Beauty Collection of SPOTURNO.

From the creation of his first success in 1904, François Spoturno took his mother's name "Coti" and changed the "i" into a "y" in order to internationalize it.
