Back to the roots
Corsica
The SPOTURNO family settled in Corsica, on the Bay of Ajaccio, in the 16th century. On this wild and untamed island, they were pioneers in cultivating orange trees on their Barbicaja estate, which borders the Route des Sanguinaires.
François Spoturno was born on May 3, 1874. He lost his mother at the age of four, and his father three years later. It was his paternal grandmother who raised him. Together, when he was only twelve, they left the Island of Beauty in search of a better future on the mainland. Yet throughout his life, François remained devoted to the well-being of his beloved native island.

GOLDEN POINT OF A SUCCESSION OF OLFACTIVE MASTERPIECES
A revolutionary perfume, a soliflore, a tribute to the Rose, symbol of the Woman, the Rose of May, the Centifolia, the one which grows in Grasse, mixed with two completely new synthetic molecules which give to this perfume all its strength and its modernity.
Birth of an olfactory family
LES AMBRES DOUX
Two iconic perfumes were born that year, both centered around the amber note that greatly inspired Spoturno. It was this pioneering combination of vanillin — a new synthetic molecule — with a natural material that brought the fragrance its remarkable success. This soft, harmonious accord was impossible to achieve using a natural vanilla infusion alone.
A DEFINING MEETING
RENE LALIQUE
A visionary and aesthete, Spoturno called upon the talents of a renowned jeweler and glass artist to design his perfume bottles. When Art and Industry unite as one! Twelve exceptional bottles would elevate Perfumery to the ultimate representation of luxury and French elegance.
An essential reference for all perfumers
THE "CYPRUS" FAMILY
Inhabited by the scents of the forests of his childhood, François Spoturno seeks a harmony based on an oak moss accord, designated by the name "chypre" since the 17th century.
"A scent of amber moss emanating at certain times of the woods and forests." He then had the idea of covering the earthy notes by a clever overdose of jasmine. This exceptional agreement is at the origin of this new family of perfumes which will seduce the greatest perfumers of all times.

Véronique Spoturno-Coty
SPOTURNO
A TRUE STORY
Inspired by her heritage, Véronique founded SPOTURNO to offer aesthetes, 120 years later, perfumes that are instantly recognizable, crafted in total freedom by a world-renowned Master Perfumer. This is the very essence of SPOTURNO, a house driven by the desire to elevate an extraordinary legacy.
In 1904, with the creation of his first success, François Spoturno adopted the name of his mother, 'Coti,' changing the 'i' to a 'y' in order to internationalize it.
In 1921, after numerous successes, Spoturno created his final masterpiece, the true culmination of his career, now known as SPOTURNO 1921, a tribute to his legacy.
Véronique’s mission is to continue this quest for beauty, blending art and perfume, and reinventing the spirit of her great-grandfather.
Born in Normandy in 1971, Véronique Spoturno merges her family’s fragrant heritage with her art. Trained in the art of picassiette in the 1990s in New York, she then worked for seven years with the renowned photographer Lucien Clergue in Arles, overseeing silver gelatin prints and curating his exhibitions.
Having lived in Touraine for the past 15 years, she has created over a hundred unique pieces in mosaic made from antique plates, reflecting a philosophy that will surprise you little: 'to break in order to rebuild.
